House of Peter I in the first half of the twentieth century.

Memories of Polochan-guards contain invaluable information about the past of our city. They colorfully and affordably paint pictures of the old Polotsk, talk about the moods and thoughts of people of a bygone era. Polochanka, formerly known teacher in the city, Nina Vladimirovna Ozernikova remembers Polotsk in the 30s past century. She recalls with special warmth the House of Peter I, where she received her first music lessons from pianist Dora Alexandrovna Schneerson.

At the stationary exhibition “Walk through Nizhne-Pokrovskaya” you can also get acquainted with a brief biography of Nina Vladimirovna’s mother, Tatiana Vyshinskaya, who graduated from the Polotsk Women's High School in 1911. In subsequent years, she taught in elementary school classes, and later taught children to Russian language and literature in various schools of Polotsk. After the war, when her family returned from evacuation, Tatyana Ivanovna Ozernikova taught French for several years. In 1949 she was awarded the title “Honored Teacher of the BSSR”.
